A blog designed to appreciate the inattentive and metaphoric side of life and then some.

Back in 2017 I had decided I was going to do 50 new things when I turned 50, one of which was start a blog.  Well, here it is 2022 and I've finally decided to go ahead and do this.  Better late than never right?  Right.  And if you're ADHD like me, it's amazing you even get to it late!  At any rate, welcome to my blog of all things inattentive and then some.  I thought I would go ahead and lead with my starting piece which I did write in 2017 and still rings true today.  The blog is broken up into four pages.  Kindness and Gratitude, Metaphoric Living, Humorous Antidotes, and a Blog for my Dog.   I hope you enjoy these pieces I've written.  If you're recently lost a beloved fur baby, a blog for my dog may bring you some comfort.  Anyway, better late than never and better to take the chance and fail then never have the courage to try.  Without further ado, I bring you Where did I put my glasses?

Where did I put my glasses? Now that I'm 50 this is something added to my never ending list of my where did I put my _______(feel free to fill in the blank here). I have probably 10 pair of glasses. One in each room of my house, one is each office at my different sites, one in my car, a pair in my garage...you get the picture. But I can never seem to find them. And then there's the moment of "Oh, they're on your head". Have you ever wondered how you can have something physically on your head but you're so engrossed in looking for them you don't feel them? No, never happened to me either. Thank goodness for The Christmas Tree shop where you can buy multiple pairs for only a few dollars. Then you can have 20 pair of glasses and still not find them. In the months before I turned 50 I created a list of 50 things I wanted to do after I turned 50. It's not a bucket list, it's just new things to try so I can say I tried 50 new things in the year I turned 50 (this doesn't include how many times I can say 50 in one sentence). One of the things I decided I wanted to do was to start a blog. I wasn't sure about what I was going to write (aside from no politics allowed) but then I did one of those quizzes on Facebook and it came up with the title of my memoir "Where did I put my glasses". I got to thinking about how that is a perfect name for my blog. Why? Well because 1.) I think everyone can relate to not knowing where their glasses are (or their keys, or their coffee cup, or their purse, or their wallet etc.) 2.) I have ADD and you can incorporate blogging about all stories ADD related to not finding something or just being so inattentive you don't know where you put something and 3.) because I think in turning 50 you start soul searching. You look at what you've accomplished, what you want to accomplish, and you want to make even more out of your life. You want to make sure you minimize regrets and so you search for what makes you happy, what makes your life fulfilled, and you begin to appreciate life even more than you already did. Hopefully though, finding these things will be much easier than finding your glasses., Hopefully you can find these things which if you don't try you won't and if you're brave enough to begin searching there are amazing lessons to be learned. I've always loved to write and I have lots of pieces to which many people can relate. I hope that in creating this blog I can make a difference to someone out there. I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but I like cheese. I can't promise I'll have good grammar or that I'll always make sense but I'm accomplishing something I wanted to do. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find where I put my glasses.

Kaleidoscope

10/24/2022

The light going into the kaleidoscope is life, the colors and geometrical shapes created through this are an individual's personality, their soul and being, which is where the beauty is found.

I've come to the conclusion that finding the person meant to be with you, is like making a jigsaw puzzle.
