The benefits of practicing gratitude.

03/18/2018

"You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you."~ Sarah Ban Breathnach, author of Simple Abundance.

I chose this quote because I find it to be true and moving. Even on the days when things are the most difficult I try to remind myself to look for the good in the day. No matter how bad the day is, there is always good in it somewhere. No matter how little it may seem, look for the good. It's so easy these days to be consumed with the bad, the evil, what's wrong and what needs to be changed. We forget that good is everywhere still, and some days we need to look harder for it. It would be so easy for me to be swallowed up into the darkness of the bad in the world. I'm too sensitive and there's so much of it. But I choose to look for the good, and the more I look for the good, the more I find it. The more I find it the easier it becomes to see it and the more grateful I am for every positive word someone says to me. The more grateful I am to have touched someone else's life. The more grateful I am that I embarked on this journey to do one gratitude for every day of the year. I am grateful to have done this, because it is making me a better person. One that is really grateful for all that I have and all that I receive. My hope is to return that into the world and hope that my little ripple will make a dent in that darkness out there today. My love to all of you and my sincere thanks for all of your friendships.
