Kaleidoscope
The light going into the kaleidoscope is life, the colors and geometrical shapes created through this are an individual's personality, their soul and being, which is where the beauty is found.
There is so much division in the world today with so many things. I've heard stories of family members splitting from each other, friendships ending, and fights breaking out. No one can just agree to disagree anymore. It's heartbreaking to see. If your opinion of mine differs, I will always hear you out. My mind has been changed from discussions before. However I would hope for the same courtesy and if we find we have reached an impasse, then we just respect that each other has a differing view. Call me Pollyanna but it's what I try to do and wish for others to be able to do.
However, since that seems to be so hard these days I've decided I would rather promote kindness and gratitude. It helps remind me of the good that's still out there despite the division and anger. That is the purpose of this blog page. Posting the stories of kindness I've encountered or have had the pleasure in partaking of giving kindness. I share these stories to inspire others to pay it forward and to remember that good things still happen to good people. Have you been witness to or part of a kind act. Share it with me and I'll happily post to here if you give me permission to do so. The more the better. Try one small act of kindness. It doesn't have to involve money, it can be anything. What you will find is that your heart is more filled that the person who received your act of kindness.

Several years ago I was cast in a play called Nickel and Dimed. The play is a real story with the names changed to protect the subjects of the experiment. Here is an excerpt about which the play is written.
I score a woman's basketball league every Wednesday night and have done so for three years now (minus COVID isolation). I enjoy the women and watching the games very much so it makes it easy for me to set up for them and go the extra mile such as making sure the floor is swept, having first aid supplies on...
I am always grateful for the clean trifecta. I am grateful for a hot shower to be able to take one on a regular basis whenever I want. I am grateful for clean sheets that go on my bed. Some people don't even have a bed on which to put sheets while other people may never have clean sheets....
Recently, I've been having a pity party. Mostly quietly because I've found most people don't want to join in on this type of party and I don't want people to feel bad for me. However, holidays aren't always joyful for everyone for lots of reasons, but there's always an expectation to be somewhere or have big plans on Christmas...
The journaling prompt for today is What humbles you?
Gratitude. I've come to learn a lot about it in the last two years by writing about it every day for a year and a half. I've also learned that I have only just begun to scratch the surface of learning. Gratitude is appreciating what you have, what is here and now and present. It's nothing that you've earned it's...
Over the past couple of days I was in a place where I couldn't come up with a gratitude. Mostly just from being blue (but I'm okay). Then I reminded myself that this is the time you have to dig deep to find the gratitude the very thing that will help you climb out of the dark. So, I'm digging...
Today I am grateful for downtime. As I was sitting on my couch this evening watching TV and relaxing it dawned on me that not everybody has that opportunity. There are many people who need to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. There are single parents who go to work to provide for their children to come home to...
